2027 AGPT RACGP General Practitioner Registrar Extended Skills Positions

Applications are now open for 2027 AGPT RACGP General Practitioner registrar extended skills posts 

Positions are open for 6-month terms starting on 1st February 2027 and 2nd August 2027. Applications for these positions close at 5pm Wednesday 24th June 2026. 

These positions are only available to AGPT RACGP GP registrars who will have completed both GPT1 and GPT2 terms prior to starting with SHV.     

  • Please check with your training provider/medical educator if needed to determine your eligibility for these terms. 

Location 
Sexual Health Victoria has one clinical site, at 901 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, 3128. 

Description of the type of work to be undertaken 
The registrar will gain broad clinical experience in reproductive and sexual health issues. This includes contraception, IUD insertion, STI prevention, screening and management, cervical screening, menopause, genital health, management of menstrual symptoms and pregnancy choices for unintended pregnancy including medical termination of pregnancy. 

The role of the registrar in this setting 
The registrar will provide patient care, investigation result follow up and support other clinical staff. 

The hours the registrar will work, and time spent in educational activities 
Working hours will be between 9-5 pm Monday to Friday. Tutorials are included as well as training in IUD insertion and medical termination of pregnancy provision. Each registrar will also be given the opportunity to complete the clinical requirement to obtain their SRHA National Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health. 

Key selection criteria for registrar positions 

  1. Experience in reproductive and sexual health and/or gynaecological procedures. 
  1. Ability to work with patients from disadvantaged groups. 
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as highly developed interpersonal skills. 
  1. Potential to use skills gained at Sexual Health Victoria in the future.

Applications for 2027 registrar posts are accepted prior to interviews held in mid-July 2026. Posts are full-time but applications for part-time posts will be considered.
