SHV parent / carer sessions are an important part of the everyBODY Education program. Engaging parents and carers is part of a whole school approach which is part of best practice RSE. SHV strongly recommend engaging students and the school community in sequential Relationships and Sexuality Education though out primary and secondary school. This is supported by The Victorian Department of Education Sexuality and Consent Education Policy.
SHV offer sessions which provide opportunity for young people to learn with their trusted adults. Participants will be guided through information and conversation around bodies, reproduction and growing up. Choose from the available sessions listed below based on the needs of your community.
These guided discussion programs can be run face to face or online. Participants will be provided with information from expert educators as well as have opportunity for young people to learn from their trusted adult.
Sessions might be used to support classroom programs and engage the parent / carer community. Schools which run programs on a biannual schedule would benefit from offering these sessions in alternate years to classroom sessions.
