Learning Intentions

  • Identify supporting legislation in relation to sexuality and autism.
  • Explore why talking about sexuality with individuals with autism is important.
  • Develop strategies to support the sexuality of individuals with autism.
  • Examine how autism might impact: relationships, sexual and gender diversity, pornography, public and private, consent.
  • Explore how to answer questions and respond to behaviour.
  • To have an opportunity to network with other professionals.
  • To have an opportunity to ask questions of an experienced disability and community educator.

Entry Requirements/Eligibility 

This course is ideal for any professional working with a participant with autism. Support workers, allied health, psychologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, mental health practitioners, nurses, and teachers.

Duration

In-person sessions run for 3-hours.
