Evidence demonstrates that Youth and Community workers play a pivotal role in supporting young people’s sexual health and improving their health outcomes. We want to support the sector to enable staff to have the knowledge and confidence to start conversations with the young people they work with about their reproductive and sexual health. These interactive workshops allow SHV to model what such a workshop may look like.
Workshops are trauma-informed and designed for young people aged 12-25, who are at-risk or outside of a mainstream secondary school setting.
These workshops are delivered face to face at your organisation by experienced SHV community educators who work with young people in a range of settings.
SHV offers bespoke content and delivery. Topics included can be negotiated at time of booking.
Recommended workshop time is at least 1.5 hours.
Following completion of this course, participants will:
Workshops are intended for young people aged 12 to 25 in a variety of settings that are outside mainstream secondary schooling. These settings may include youth and community organisations, LGBTQIA+ groups, mental health and wellbeing, and the justice system.
Please note that an adult youth or community worker is required to register for a group they support. No individual registrations for young people.
*For your group to be eligible for registration you must be employed within Victoria.
