Course Overview

These self-paced online modules are for parents and carers of young people with disability. Registration will grant access to an online learning module containing guidance, information and resources to help parents navigate the topic of sexuality with their young person. Written by expert disability and community educators. Registrants will have access to the materials for 6 months. 

Learning Intentions

Participants will: 

  • explore the emergence of sexuality in someone with ASD and factors that may affect this 
  • explore why talking about sexuality with an individual with ASD is important 
  • examine the impact of ASD in relation to 
  • relationships 
  • sexual and gender diversity 
  • pornography 
  • consent 
  • explore how to answer questions and respond to sexual behaviour 

Entry Requirements/Eligibility

For parents and carers of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to help them provide information and support sexuality, in age- and developmentally-appropriate ways.

Complete online at your own pace (Self-paced)

Cost

$120 (GST does not apply)

Accreditations/Recognition

Certificate upon completion.
