Course Dates

Description

This program aims to increase students’ knowledge of the physiology and management of their menstrual health, along with educating them on pelvic pain. It will focus on increasing confidence in help seeking behaviours and reduce stigma around these topics.

This session will be delivered to either Year 7 or Year 8 students, or a combined cohort.

This session is aimed to increase students:

  • knowledge and understanding of the physiology and process of menstruation
  • confidence in managing their menstrual health and/or supporting their peers to do so
  • ability to locate period product dispensers at their school and correctly dispose of products
  • confidence in managing any pelvic pain symptoms, which may include seeking medical help
  • ability to participate and attend school, based on a reduction of menstrual or pelvic pain related barriers

Duration: 90 minutes

Participation: Sessions are designed to be delivered to all genders, as it is important for all students to learn about these topics and support themselves, their peers and their community to achieve the best health and education outcomes.

Additional support: SHV strongly encourages schools to deliver a whole school approach to Relationships and Sexuality Education. We suggest booking free professional development sessions to provide the level of support required for students experiencing menstrual health challenges at school. Professional development sessions are a pivotal tool in equipping staff with the knowledge and skills to address these issues effectively and empathetically.

How to register for a session: Please email [email protected] or fill out the enquiry form below for more information and to register. If you have any specific needs please do not hesitate to let us know so we can work towards tailoring the sessions to your needs.
