Implanon NXT education and simulation practice at SHV consists of one hour and 30 minutes of online modules followed by 20 minutes of Implanon NXT insertion and removal simulation practice on model arms under supervision (via Zoom). Clinicians working in regional and rural Victoria are invited to apply for a scholarship to do Contraceptive Theory and Implant training, at no cost to you. Please see below

Implanon NXT theory at SHV consists of one hour and 30 minutes of online modules. This course has the theoretical component only for Implanon NXT Training. Simulation training is required in addition to this theoretical component.

Implanon NXT Train the Trainer course at SHV consists of 2 hours of online modules and 1.5 hours of live virtual classroom which includes Implanon NXT insertion and removal simulation practice on model arms under supervision (via Zoom).

This short online course is designed to focus on copper IUD insertion for practitioners who are already inserting hormonal intrauterine devices.

This 6 hour course is designed to develop or update knowledge of unplanned pregnancy.

SHV's IUD insertion course is suited for experienced GPs, NPs and EMs who are wanting to provide IUD insertion to their patients, and who will have at least 10 IUD insertion patients per year. Online learning can be started at any time of the year with placements available once online modules are complete.

Intrauterine Device Insertion Train the Trainer course is a mixed methods course with a 6-hour self-paced online eLearning module followed by a 1-hour virtual workshop as well as a review and feedback on your first training session.
